Abstract

Stachys ocymastrum (L.) Briq. (Lamiaceae) is an annual species native to the Western Mediterranean. During fieldwork, it was found in a ruderal site in the village of Veli Iž on the island of Iž (Zadar archipelago, Croatia) in May 2024. Since there are no earlier records of this species in Croatia, it should be considered a new taxon of this country’s flora and included in the current Flora Croatica Database. Additionally, this study reports S. ocymastrum for the first time on the eastern part of the Adriatic Basin.
